Is Online Working Halal or Haram?

Yes this is one of the questions you read online in various online groups, discussions and meetings. Scenario might always be the same that a person who had just stepped in this online working world would ask this question. I am writing this article to make my self clear, may be some would agree and most might not. I would like to read healthy conversation about it.

Does Religion matter?

First this that I want to be clear is that "Is Online Working Halal or Haram?" is not a MUSLIM question. I mean we should not consider it as a question asked by a Muslim. Let me first list down the reasons why you ask this question.

• I am using copyright content to make my own YouTube vidoes
• I am using pirated themes.
• All my software's including my windows are pirated.
• My content is music, movies, songs or any other.

Aren't these all questions valid for a non-Muslim ?
Does their religion, or even if someone has no religion they have ethics, allow them to use copyright content or use tools without paying?
Can they distribute various copies of a tool/theme/windows when there vendors say one license only.

So please don't mix up ethics, professionalism and way of dealing with being how Muslim you are, because Muslims are taught these things in the best possible way. We, Muslims, are not allowed to cheat, lie, fraud, double-cross, misuse or mishandle tools and laws.

Response That I Hate

Saying that aren't you using pirated windows and software's is like a thief caught saying "Aren't there anyone else looting?" A corrupt politician saying: "Every one in the power is getting his benefits". A manager saying "I am pushing my son to this job and he will be a good resource to the company".

To be honest if we start questioning what is Haram and Halal we might have to quit using paper money because everything in today's economy revolves around Interest. What will you do then? But we are forced to use it, there is no escape at a "Certain Level". But after a certain level, it is our power and will do adopt this corrupt/illegal and unethical system or stay away from it.

I Hit Back With These Questions

1. So should be stop thinking?
2. Should we stop questioning our self?
3. Isn't a thinking person better than a ignorant one?
4. Please don't stop thinking and don't humiliate someone who asks.
5. Isn't it wrong/illegal/Haram that we use pirated stuff?

Many of you might be earning good enough that they can pay for all these windows, software's. tools and services. Have you paid for these services? Or you feel better being ignorant and are now happy with this way of Haram life?

So let's get to the point whether Online work is Halal or Haram. For a straight forward answer: NO, it is not Haram. But their are more details to it. :)

We all use pirated software's, themes, tools and other stuff. Even our base is pirated and we can say that we are working 100% legal. But when some one asks you about a specific field on online work that is this work Haram or Halal.

Why do we act smart and react with probing questions.

Society Problem

For GOD sake, every one knows and uses these pirated stuff. Because of two reasons:

1 - From our school, homes and all social environment we have never seen anyone purchasing these things. So we are the same as well.
2 - We don't have the money/right way of paying them or there might be any other reason.

Answer

So in the first place it is our societies fault that we did not teach our children that we are feeding you with pirated stuff, schools and even our universities are doing the same. But in all those worst cases a person emerges and his mind clicks that he is doing something wrong. And asks you a specific question about a field, if you can not answer it.

Why you push him with questions that everyone knows answer of?

Why we could not encourage him with the answer that:

Yes there are various aspects wrong in it, but you can start and as you get better and you come back and pay for those pirated software's, themes and tools.

Why can't we appreciate that person that he/she has at least enough moral, ethical or even religious spark in him to ask himself questions like that. And for me "A person asking questions to himself and pointing fingers at himself is the best person".

Hadith

On the authority of Abu Sa’eed al-Khudree (may Allah be pleased with him) who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say, “Whosoever of you sees an evil, let him change it with his hand; and if he is not able to do so, then [let him change it] with his tongue; and if he is not able to do so, then with his heart — and that is the weakest of faith.” [Muslim]

In this Hadith, prophet tells if you can not change something with hand, at least say it with tongue and even if you can not do that at least feel it in your heart.

When it is Haram

It is Haram, If you are in a condition that you can pay for these services and you don't. Even with your own content and publish a website/channel or whatever you are doing.

It is again unethical, If you are teaching people "How to make tons of dollars using tricks and other ways" but you are not telling them pay for these tools and services. If not now, at least after you have earned these hundreds of dollars.

You have crossed the weakest part of faith (according to Hadith) , If you do or see wrong and don't still say or feel in you heart.

How I Deal?

If I am operating a website using pirated WordPress theme, I am doing wrong. Later when i start earning money and i don't pay for it, I am in Haram mode now.

I have successfully paid for about 3,4 WordPress themes that i used in my projects, paid for assets that i used for game development and I had never used paid assets of worth over $2000 for my personal use. I had used them to learn their knowledge and still working on few of them and i have decide that whenever i will launch a game using any of these assets, i will purchase it as well.

So it is just matter of making a trigger in your mind that i have to go back and correct things as well. Yes we all came in using the pirated Windows and tools. But we are in good shape now, so we should come forward and start paying one by one.


If i have missed anything please let me know and if i have said something wrong, feel it as your obligation to correct me because i will happily accept it.

Election Fever and how i managed it

Time has gone and  11th may was a bad day for most of youth members(PTI followers). I thought of writing about it in recent time and now starting to put it in a article.

Sharing about how i felt before the elections and what were my feelings when i had to walk n my street, because mostly there majority of PMLN supporters. It was a complex and confuse time. So it would be nicer and funny to right about it.

Losing the Love - The Pain (Part- 1)

We all are looking for love in our lives. The love may vary from person to person. Some might be looking for mother’s love, some for brother's, a few may be looking for social acceptance and love. And what most of the people are looking for those lovers whom they can say “I LOVE YOU”. We can certainly say it to every one, but its a long topic, so leave it for another time. So saying it more clearly we found most of us are looking for a good love and life partner. The struggle begins quite early in our life like the day when we see the first love scene in a movie, or the day we listen a beautiful romantic song or we listen to our elders, including father and uncles, chattering about actresses and girls in the colony we live. Seems funny though but our quest just starts from there.


So as we are looking for a true lover, the time passes on and on, and the urge and excitement increases all the way. We began too see each coming lady/boy as may be the “I LOVE YOU” one. Lets just pass the complete process and jump to stage where we had that “I LOVE YOU” partner.

Life becomes so beautiful and continues to be. We find pleasure and happiness in whole life. Life seems to be complete and filled. Trees began to give unseasonal fruits for you. You talk and make love with your partner. Start thinking how beautiful would be the future. And the list goes on an on.

But after few years, when you find yourself fixed & in a routine of each other. We become more like ordinary people to each other. We start yelling and screaming at each other most of the time. If one is giving suggestion the other thinks he/she is weak and need assistance so he/she presumes that this is pathetic. There communication time becomes very small and formal too. They stop talking crazy future ideas for life. Life seems dumb to them. And then the above paragraph changes like next paragraph.

Life becomes so awful and continues to be. We find disturbance and confusion in our whole life. Life seems wrecked and hallow. Trees won’t even give the seasonal fruits to you, if you lucky enough to get the you may not like the taste. You avoid and hate your partner. Start wondering how rest of future would be. And the list goes on and on.

We all are mostly victim of this situation. Differences keep on growing and we start loosing our loved ones. This process grows within us at start like a disease but starts increasing and reaching to a deadly loss of a loved one. No one would realize it until we loss the control of situation. Yes i realized it at the same situation as well.

Now we feel shallow and broken. We know we have lost someone crucial. We weep, cry, scream and yell but now you only have the voice but there isn’t any pitch that would carry it to my loved one. But now what!!! Nothing can be done now.
Finally, we sit in a quite place and raise few questions to ourselves: why have i fallen for this love search? Why i have seen the love story so early in my life? Why have listened to that romantic song in my childhood? Why i had listened to the talks of father and uncles about lovely women? Why all that happened?

I ask: “Was that a trap to set me up for the pain?”
I reply: Yes it might be.

Focusing on the Dream

When I entered the room every one was stuck to the TV. I said
“Assalam O Alaikum” and moved to the fridge, as my reason to
enter the room was to drink some water. I took the bottle from fridge
& glass and set by my mother. I filled the glass & saw towards the
TV. The scene was some thing like that:


A lady with her beautiful daughter ran into a hospital towards the
emergency ward, where other family members were waiting. She
had a little scene there (I’m skipping extra talking part so I could get
to the point). She asked her mom to look after her daughter for a
little, I’ll be back in an hour and she walked towards the exiting
door. For a couple of seconds her daughter remain calm in the room
but suddenly, just like a lost sparrow at eve, she wandered around
and when couldn’t see her mom. She get out of her grandma’s grip
and ran outside. Her grand mother ran after her to stop her & was
yelling “Stop! Stop! ”.But the little girl moved out of the room &
was yelling like her grandma, but instead, “Mama! Mama! ”. She
crossed unknown persons, ran into some while running. She could
have been lost there, could hurt herself or something like bad could
happen. She didn’t consider that she could be lost. What if she had
to come back to her family back there? She didn’t think any of these
problems but continued running.


This was the Scene I saw & started thinking that what If we all
become like this little angel? What if we all have that clear & clean
vision? What if we all get that much strong approach & vision?

We all must be like her in chasing our dreams, searching for the best
& better. We must also not look behind what we are leaving behind
and just follow/Chase our dream. We must rid of the idea that we
might lost & only seize each & every opportunity as the Sole Chance. The only thing
under our consideration should be our dream. Yes there will be hurdles.
Yes there will be voices & forces from past, asking you to stick to them.
But you must be strong enough to let all that behind.

Ouch!!!! (My mother elbowed me) & said “Aren’t you gonna drink
water? I need glass”.

Here I’m back in reality again, drinking water…….

Stepping through the Door

It was a long day, i get inside my bed to sleep. From many days I was thinking of writing but couldn't write. Actually the problem was

I couldn't decide what to write I had no topic in mind. But today i picked up the pen & my book to write something. I found an empty

Page inside my book. Then i thought from where this page came from, here is the story:

I am doing graduation. Teachers give many assignments for home work but i rarely do the work. I just take assignment

from any fellow and make a copy of it, or some time i convince anyone to write my assignment for me (thanks to everyone). It was Monday, sir

gave the assignment & said it shall be submitted next Monday. Time passed on & comes the Monday. Everyone was copying, arranging,

collecting the assignment and I was as relax as i could be. Sir didn't came that day & left a message that submit it tomorrow. I asked

one of my friend to give me his assignment I'll copy it & bring it tomorrow, i don't know why did I even thought of it, but yet i did.

In the eve, it was a burden on me to write 4 to 5 pages I asked my sister to copy paste the assignment & i got busy in my works. I returned

after some tie she was still writing & that was nearly end. I stood there. She said it is completed there is one page left free what shall

i do of it? (As she knew i was very greedy in my page usage approach)

I said leave it but she insisted & tore off the page by saying:

"No, it would be worthy" and placed it my book.

Yes, this is the page in my hand now. This all happened nearly 10 days ago. I opened my book today and found that page & I'm using it

to write my first thought. Not only this page showed his worth but also gave me the first topic & opened the door for me. What i was actually

looking for few months that what shall i write, this single page held my hand & helped me jump the hurdle I was afraid of. So the bottom line

is things show there worth out & help you too.

This is my first Article, I'm really happy to write it at last. I'll be writing and sharing such thoughts in the near future.
